The Clondalkin Drug Task Force provides
various funding opportunities under two headings:
- Treatment and Rehabilitation Fund
- Education/Training Fund.
The majority of this funding is available to drug projects
and schools in the area. However the Treatment and Rehab
Bursary Fund and the Community Training Fund are available
to the general public.
The Treatment and Rehab Bursary Fund supports drug users
in accessing education and training programmes. The fund
is made available once a year in May.
The Community Training fund provides financial assistance
to enable people living or working in Clondalkin to access
short term courses and conferences related to addiction.

Residential Treatment
and Rehabilitation Fund
Objective: To support drug users in accessing residential
treatment and rehabilitation programmes.
- Criteria:
- This funding is only available to people from the Clondalkin
Drug Task Force area who attend Task Force approved residential
centers
- Decisions about each application will be based solely
on the information provided on the form.
- Applications must be supported by a drug support agency.
- All sections of this form should be completed fully.
- For successful applicants grants will only be available
on submission of receipts/invoices.
- All applications must be signed by the member of staff
making the referral and the Treatment & Rehabilitation
Liaison Person within the agency.
- Invoice to be submitted for payment within one month
of receipt of application for funding, the funding will
be considered to be no longer required after this period
and will be re-allocated
- Background information and details of Residential Centre
programme to be included with all applications
- Funding will be provided for travel expenses for parents,
guardians or family members to attend meeting/sessions
at the Residential Treatment Centre where it is a requirement
of the programme. [Top]
Treatment and Rehab Bursary
Fund
Objective: To support drug users in accessing education
and training programmes.
Criteria:
- This funding is only available to people from the Clondalkin
Drug Task Force area.
- Funding is available to support drug users in recovery
to attend accredited courses
- Candidates, who are funded this year or have been funded
previous years, are not guaranteed funding for each year
of their course.
- Applicants must be over 16 years.
- Decisions about each application will be based solely
on the information provided on the form.
- All sections of this form should be completed fully.
- For successful applicants grants will only be available
on submission of receipts/invoices.
- Applications must be supported by a drug support agency.
- All applications must be signed by the member of staff
making the referral and the Treatment & Rehabilitation
Liaison Person within the agency.
- Support will take the form of a small grant, which
can be used towards the cost of fees, travel, childcare,
books, equipment or accommodation costs
- Where funding is required for the costs of fees, CDTF
will issue a cheque directly to the college/training agency.
- Where funding is required for additional costs such
as travel, childcare, books, equipment or accommodation
costs the referral agency is required to submit an invoice
for these specific costs to the CDTF along with the application.
Where the application is approved a cheque will be made
out to the referral agency, which will have responsibility
for administering this part of the funding.
- Funding travel costs will only cover the cost of public
transport.
- Applications for funding for Lap Tops or computers
will not be accepted. [Top]
Counselling Fund
Objective: To provide assessment, counselling and referral
services locally.
Funding is provided directly to locally based services
for the employment of sessional counsellors. Services applying
for this fund must ensure that all counsellors adhere to
the criteria recommended. This criteria is available at
the Clondalkin Drugs Task Force office. [Top]
Education and Prevention
Education Bursary Fund
Objective: To provide financial assistance to enable
local people to access 3rd level training courses related
to addiction.
Criteria:
- Support will take the form of a small grant, which
can be used towards the cost of fees, childcare, books,
etc.
- This funding is only available to people currently
living or working in the Clondalkin Drug Task Force area.
- Funding is only available for accredited courses addressing
issues relating to addiction, these may include youth
work, community work and counselling.
- Candidates, who are funded this year or have been funded
previous years, are not guaranteed funding for each year
of their course.
- Applicants must be over 18 years.
- Decisions about each application form will be based
solely on the information provided on the form.
- All sections of this form should be completed fully.
- For successful applicants grants will only be available

Community Training Fund

Objective: To provide financial assistance
to enable people living or working in Clondalkin to access
short term courses and conferences related to addiction.

the community to attend short courses and conferences
related to addiction.

Drug Project Training Fund
Objective: To financially support staff
of locally based drug projects working with drug users,
to access further training with the aim of further developing
their skills to support them in there role.
Criteria:
Funding is available to staff of the following agencies
who are working directly with drug users:
- CASP
- Bawnogue Youth & Family Support Group
- Access Programme of the Carline Centre for Learning
- Drugs Outreach Worker of the Youth Support & Training
Unit
- Cairdeas
- Homeless Worker of Ronanstown Youth Service
- Funding will be provided for specific training on drug
related issues.
- Training must have a demonstrated benefit to the work
of the agency.
- Application forms will be accepted on an ongoing basis

In-service Training Fund
Objective: Funding to support staff of
locally based projects with ‘at risk’ groups to access further
training with the aim of further developing there skills
to support them in their role.
Criteria:
- This fund will only be provided to projects who can
clearly demonstrate their work with at risk or active
drug users.
- Funding will be provided for specific training on drug
related issues.
Or
- Funding will be provided for general training with
a demonstrated to drug users or young people at risk of
drug use.
- Application forms will be accepted on an ongoing basis

Parent Group Funding
Objective: To provide financial support to locally based
parent groups with the provision of training and access
to courses and conferences.
Criteria:
This fund is available to enable local Parent Groups from
the community to attend short courses and conferences related
to addiction.
- Support will take the form of a small grant or contribution
towards the cost of the course or conferences.
- Decisions about each application will be based solely
on the information provided on the form.
- All sections of the form should be completed fully.
- Application forms will be accepted on an ongoing basis
where budget is still available.
- For successful applications grants will only be available

School Resources Fund
Objective: To provide financial support
to schools in Clondalkin with the implementation of the
Substance Use Module of the SPHE (Social Personal &
Health Education) Programme.
Criteria:
- This fund is available to enable schools in Clondalkin
to purchase resources and materials to support them in
the delivery of the Substance Use Module of the SPHE Programme.
- Support will take the form of a small grant or contribution
towards the cost of materials and resources.
- Decisions about each application will be based solely
on the information provided on the form.
- All sections of the form should be completed fully.
- Application forms will be accepted on an ongoing basis
where budget is still available.
- For successful applications grants will only be available
