How can I get involved in the work of the Task Force?

Community Representatives Forum
The overall aim of the the Community Representatives Forum is to increase the participation of the lcoal community on the Board of the Task Force and other decision making strutures.

The objectives of the Forum are as follows:

  • To provide the opportunity for Forum members and representatives to meet and discuss issues relating to drug misuse in the Clondalkin area.
  • To develop a Forum representative of the local community where their voices are heard at local, regional and national level.
  • To ensure that the views of the local community are represented at the Clondalkin Drugs Task Force, Task Force sub-groups and other decision making structures at local, regional and national level.
  • To ensure that the local community is informed of the work of the Clondalkin Drugs Task Force.
  • To provide the opportunity for Forum members and representatives to access training and devlop their skills, i.e. capacity building, personal development, drug awareness.
  • To develop networking with all groups.

How can I get involved?

  • The Community Representatives Forum will nominate the Community Representatives in consulation with the Task Force and Partnership company.
  • You should be residing in the area that you are representing.
  • You should represent an appropriate and adequate geographic area.
  • You must be fully committed to the aims and objectives of the LDTF.
  • You need to be able to give an undertaking of the necessary time commitment to carry out your role effectively.
  • You should have a good knowledge of the local drug problem, based on either personal experience or from working with an organisaton addressing the drugs issue in the area.
  • Finally, you should have the active support of the communities you represent. [Top]
